Top Hat

Kenny Wax Productions produced the world premiere of Olivier Award-winning Top Hat between 2011 and 2015 both in London’s West End and on UK Tour.  

Packed full of Irving Berlin’s greatest hits including Cheek to Cheek, Top Hat, White Tie & Tails, Let’s Face the Music & Dance and Puttin’ on the Ritz, Top Hat tells the story of Broadway sensation Jerry Travers who dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society girl Dale Tremont. Top Hat brings the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age and the glorious, tap-dancing magic of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to the stage in one of the greatest dance musicals of all time.

The production was directed by Matthew White, with choreography by Bill Deamer; Set Design by Hildegard Bechtler; Costume Design by Jon Morrell; Lighting Design by Peter Mumford and Sound Design by Gareth Owen. The musical score was orchestrated and arranged by Chris Walker, with additional vocal arrangements by Dan Jackson.  

Top Hat received three Olivier awards in 2013 for Best New Musical, Best Choreography, Best Costumes and the Evening Standard Award for Best Night Out.
